Get unstuck fast
FAQs, common pitfalls, and short playbooks for the routines that matter most: Monday mornings, Friday wraps, and end-of-quarter checkpoints.
Frequently asked questions (12)
- Open This Week to see the current week's plan. For paper-based teachers, go to All Binder Packets and print the current week's packet — it includes the cover sheet, daily plans, Friday review, parent digest, worksheets, and answer keys in binder order.
Common pitfalls
Trying to finish every worksheet
The packet is generous on purpose. If a student understands the concept after the first two problems, move on. Mastery > completion.
Skipping the Friday review
The Friday review is the spiral — it is what makes the program stick. If you only have 20 minutes that day, do the Big Question and skip everything else.
Printing one day at a time
Use the Monday-morning Binder Packet workflow. One print job per week saves 4 hours over the year.
Reading every science passage cold
Use the Read-Aloud toggle on the Student Today page for any passage the student finds dense. Comprehension matters more than independent decoding at this grade.
Forgetting to pull the answer key pages
Amber-colored pages in the binder packet are teacher-only. Pull them out before the student opens the binder.
